Covid 19 reopening plans

Notice to Happy Smiles Patients

We hope you are well and staying safe

We are currently open for face to face appointments that are pre-booked by phone or email.

We’d like to start by apologising for the disruption to your routine care. Although out of our control it has been incredibly frustrating for us; however, we are continuing to provide a phased return to dentistry in line with guidance given to us.

We have undertaken a risk assessment of our premises and have made changes to the way we will be providing your dental care. These are listed below in the patient information leaflet which aims to guide you through our new appointment systems, we would ask you to familiarise yourselves with this before you attend the practice.

These modifications will help us to prioritise the safety of our patients and staff. The additional safety precautions will naturally slow the pace at which we are able to work, therefore, we ask for your patience during these unprecedented times.

In order to allow us time to treat emergencies and to maximise patient safety all routine examinations and treatment will continue to be delayed until further notice, rest assured we will inform you when this changes.

We do foresee that lots of you will want to book an appointment but please bear in mind that there is only one phone line into the practice and we need to prioritise urgent problems.

We are currently able to offer the full range of dental treatment but some procedures require us to wear further protection than normal so we may look a little different but we can assure you we are the same people underneath.

We ask that all patients visiting us fill out some forms prior to visiting us including a covid health questionnaire so we can assess risk levels and make sure everyone is as safe as possible.

This is a dynamic situation that is ever changing. We will try to keep you informed to the best of our ability and hope it won’t be long before we can return to something like normality.

Although we have been advised to postpone routine work for now; given that childrens teeth can change reasonably quickly due to new teeth erupting,  if you would like your child to be seen for an examination please contact us now .

We are also happy to assess any problems anyone may have and if you feel you fall into the high risk category for dental needs (such as gum problems or a high decay rate) please contact us and we can assess and make an appointment as required

If you have any concerns please call or email us as we cannot admit people who walk up to the practice without an appointment. You can contact us via telephone on 01952825555 or via email on happysmiles.dentistry@nhs.net

Thanks again for your continued support and patience
